The soft clipping occurs first in the signal flow, and feeds into the hard clipping, so the effect is basically additive. Which dominates the output will depend in large part on which of the diode types is selected in each stage, since the amount of signal clipping/compression depends upon the forward voltage threshold (FVT) of the clipping diode. The lower the threshold, the more signal is clipped, with greater distortion and compression and lower volume output. Germanium diodes have an FVT of around 0.3V, silicon diodes around 0.7V and LEDs over 2V. The strength of the signal going into the clipping stages also has a powerful effect, so your input signal strength (either from the guitar or the output of a preceding effect pedal) and the CJ drive pot setting are big factors in how much clipping occurs. Bottom line: there are a TON of different overdriven/distorted tones possible with the Crown Jewel, so there's a very high probability it will produce that sound you're looking for.
