Coming up with a project to use up all the extra parts I jave accumulated after my first 4 BYOC builds and gutting a few dead pedals I already had. Thinking about a Yellow Overdrive that will go on a bass guitar pedalboard that has a BYOC Bass Fuzz (360) and a BYOC Para compressor. Ive I've seen some mods on the boards to make it more bassy but looking for something that would make it a bass specific overdrive.

Just increase the .047uF cap off the inverting input of the op amp where the distortion happens. There's not much else to do. The OD-1 already lets in a lot of low end.

That's C3 on the labeled PCB diagram below. A 0.22uf cap should do the trick:

I love this pedal for bass - I got the idea from Children of Bodom's Henkka Blacksmith who uses an SD-1 for an awesomely aggressive sound. Did some research and found the OD-1 is basically the same circuit minus a tone control.

So I put the .22uF cap at C3, but I use a 5-string in A standard and I'm noticing some loss at the very bottom end. Could I just go with an even bigger cap at C3 to regain some of that chocolate? A .47uF or a 1uF? Is there any danger in going too big here?

I also saw in another forum someone suggested a .47uF at C6 to add even more bass. Basically, same question: is there any danger/downside to going too big here?

Thanks!
