i ordered my bender kit and assembled it,it works. but it seems kinda muddy, i cant play any chords besides bar chords, and the notes i play dont have much treble and they decay and die out really fast. when i was building i put the .047 uf capacitor in stead of the .1uf to reduce compression, was wondering if this has effected the symptoms. ive tried biasing it , and was wondering how you mease the voltage coming out, how do you know if it is 4.5 or 5 volts , ive tried with my multimeter, but havent had much luck.

Hi :)

I copied and pasted your question over to the specific forum for Ultimate Fuzz and Bender clone issues. You should get an answer a bit quicker this way :)

Here's the link:

Your problem definitely sounds like a bias issue to me. If I were you, I'd just adjust the trim pot until it sounds good to you, and not worry so much about the voltage. Sometimes your ear will tell you way more than a Volt meter will anyway ;)
