So the Landgraff clipping mod has started me thinking about housing Two Screamers in one housing - the first would have variable clipping and tone caps via rotart switches, and the second would just have a full-range tone cap with Landgraff mod - so it could be used as a second gain stage and/or clean boost when the clipping diodes are lifted in the middle position.

I think it makes sense to have seperate gain and level controls, obviously - but I don't see the need for two tone knobs (for me at least), so I'm wondering if the two boards can share the same tone pot?

The easiest thing would be to use a dual gang pot (two seperate pots with one shaft) for the tone knob.
