I work for a company that installs nurse call systems in hospitals, along with other electrical systems. It occurred to me recently that the old analog systems we are phasing out might have some useful parts to harvest, particularly in the audio modules. I'm not sure what to look out for though.
Below are some pictures of a patient station head for the trash. There a few transistors that sound familiar: 2n3906. There's lots of different diodes. I'm not sure how useful any would be. There's an LM386n audio chip that might might be useful?

LM386 is useful, one of the chips looked like a maxon charge pump chip. Those are handy for doubling 9v to 18v

I mean, almost all the parts in an analog audio system can be used for something cool. Take a look on google for datasheets and use them where you think they might be fun.
