 Post subject: Lil Echo hum

Just built a Li'l Echo. It's working, but I'm getting a bit of a hum.. Admittedly, I have a ground hum on my amp anyway. Is it likely that the effect of the pedal is just augmenting the hum, or am I taking this lil guy back to the bench?

(I know, I know.. fix my amp. B-) I am partially motivated in just getting this topic on the forum for future reference. )

If you have one of those 9V battery adapters that plug into the pedal's power jack (see below), try that and see if the hum subsides. Power supplies are the most common source of noise that we see here.

That's a good idea. The power supply I was using is a wall wart from work I had lying around. Likely not ideal for the application.

If it's an unregulated power supply, which it probably is, it's definitely not ideal.

Convenient, but not ideal, for sure.

I used a 9v adapter and ran it thru my twin and it sparkled.
