I just built my first kit, the analog delay and it is fantastic. I was super excited when everything seemed to work with no problems at first. Then I realized the repeats knob is acting really strangely, with the knob at noon I get the least amount of repeats and turned either clockwise or counter clockwise I get more repeats. I have no idea why this might be happening. I’m also having a hard time getting short delay times without having it oscillate. It seems no matter how I set the trimpots it will oscillate with the delay knob past noon

We need to see photos of your build. They need to be LARGE, well-focused, well-lit shots of the PCB (both sides would be best, but starting with just the top is OK) and all of the switch and jack wiring.

Here is the pictures, the switch and jack wiring is fine, it works perfectly on and off. There’s just a problem with the repeats knob, let me know if you have to see the other side of the board, it can be a pain to take it all out again.

I’m actually having a hard time uploading the picture, it says the file size is too big. I’m going to try doing it from my computer in a minute.

I just have an update, I’ve been trying super hard to figure out what’s wrong with it and I’ve noticed completely by accident that it stops acting up when I touch a specific spot on the circuit board. It’s a big round hole next to the 3205 chip. There’s two holes on the board like that and I don’t know what they’re there for but as long as I’m touching that hole everything works perfectly. Is there something that can replace my finger to keep it that way permanently?

There seems to be an issue with one of the 2N3904 transistors in this build. Please see BYOC's note below and act accordingly.

There seems to be a problem with the use of the 2N3904 transistor in the Q2 (transistor closest to the BBD) position. For whatever reason, the circuit seems to prefer seeing a higher gain transistor here. Do you happen to have any 2N5088 or 2N5089 transistors laying around? If not, please contact sales@buildyourownclone.com and we'll send you one.

To remove the old 2N3904, do not bother trying to desolder it. Just clip the leads. Then heat up the solder joints and pull the legs out of the eyelets with pliers one by one. Once you have removed the old transistor, you can desolder the eyelets. It's much easier this way, and less risk of damaging the PCB. If you're using desolder braid, I recommend added a tiny bit of fresh solder to the old solder joints before desoldering. It may seem counter intuitive to add more solder when you're trying to remove the solder, but the fresh flux helps the old solder wick better.

Specifically, the one highlighted in the image below:

Thank you so much, I actually do have 2N5088’s so I’ll try swapping it out.
