I just finished building the Analog Delay kit and having some trouble setting the trim pots. It seems no matter what I can still hear the ticking of the clock after the guitar signal delays fade out. Is there any way to adjust or fix this? Thanks for any and all helps and tips!

What kind of power supply are you using?

I'm using the "1 Spot" 9v adapter power supply

1Spots have tendency to cause a lot of problems, mostly weird noises. Do you have a better power supply you can try or even a battery?

I just tried it with a 9v battery, and it still has that ticking after the guitar delays. I did notice you could hear the ticking as soon as the pedal is turned on, before even playing a note.

I tried adjusting the trim pots, and am still getting it when the "REPEATS" knob is at 3/4 the way up and higher.

Are you saying that you've managed to get rid of the ticking noise and it's only present when you have the repeats knob turned up? Adjusting the repeats limit trimmer doesn't have any effect?

Even with the Repeat Limit Trim Pot all the way down, I am still getting a ticking both when I turn the pedal on, and after the guitar signal delays are gone. It did make them quieter when I turned that Trim pot all the way counter clockwise.

I can email you a video of what's going on if that would help.

What I'd like to know is if you can get the noise to go away completely simply by turning down the repeats knob?

Yes, if you have a link to a video, that would be helpful.

I emailed you a video of it. It does go away with the REPEATS knob turned down to less that half way.

Did your kit come with all 2N5088 or with mostly 2N3904 and one 2N5088, and if the later is the case, did you make sure to put the 2N5088 in the slot that is specified in the instructions?

Your delay chip seems to want to go into constant self-oscillation. Can you turn up the repeats and pluck a note and have the note go into infinite repeats? That clicking noise is normal by the way...not the way yours is doing it though. That noise is what your infinite repeats should eventually degrade into, but your repeats fade away and then the "degraded infinite repeats" noise starts back up.

When I pluck a note with the REPEATS knob turned all the way up, it does go in to infinite repeats, but the notes degrade quickly to that clicking noise.

Can you please take voltage readings at pins 3, 4, and 7 of the V3205 please? Sounds like you probably have a faulty BBD chip, but I just want to check your voltage to make sure that it isn't something else.

Not sure if I'm doing this correctly, but looks like
5.9 on pin 3
5.9 on pin 4 and
4.8 on pin 7

Please email sales@buildyourownclone.com and let them know tech support says you need a new V3205.

I'm still getting some ticking, what should the values be coming from the other IC chips and their pins? Any certain Trim Pot I can adjust to fix that? Mainly the ticking when the pedal first turns on.

I just emailed you a video of after I replaced the V3205 chip. Did you want the before video as well?
