I know you fine folks like pictures when discussing building issues, but I just thought I'd throw a question out and see what happens (seein' as I can't seem to locate our digital camera at the moment)...

I just finished building a lazy sprocket, and I'm reasonably confident that the soldering is tight and the parts are all orientated properly. However, after trying to adjust the trimpot per the instructions, I seem to be getting no effect, whatsoever. The LED comes on and I get guitar signal in both effect AND bypass modes. But...I don't hear any kind of effect, at all.

One thing that I did differently in the build is that I used an 8-pin socket for the opamp. Was that a bad idea? If so, might that cause my problem?

Socket is a good idea. I'd go ahead and reflow everything anyway. I've been doing this for 3 years now, and I had the same problem with the same type effect last month.

Thanks, jimilee! I didn't think the socket would impede anything, but I'm still quite the noob at all of this!

Shotgun method, it is!

its all good. Check for tiny solder bridges too, use a magnifying glass of some sort.

Hi there I'm new to the forum and this is my first post/question/technical support. I'm experiencing a similar problem with my Lazy Sprocket build. Lights up, passes audio both engaged and bypassed without volume loss BUT 0 effect! Just out of curiosity I used both a battery and a One Spot power supply and they both work fine. I've tried adjusting the internal trim pot and both controls with ZERO change. Another note, my kit did not include the nylon standoffs. It seems also that I need to be physically touching some of the components or the back of the pcb needs to be touching the pots for audio to pass. Cuts in and out just by moving the board around but when I touch the individual leads from the pcb to the jacks or pots they seem fine. HELP!!!

You should start a new thread with your specific problems. Be sure to include good pictures of both sides of the board. Until then, I would try reheating all of your joints.
