is there a way to get a sensitivity knob like in the DOD-fx25 models? or, is the "range" knob acting as a sensitivity setting?

The two are very very interactive. I don't see where DOD got "range" and "sensetivity" from, but that's what they called them.

yea, i think i figured this thing out...my old filter was that fx25 where it had a range knob and a sensitivity knob. my original problem with this new kit is that i had to really hit the strings hard to get any effect, but im slowely gettin the hang of it. the only thing that strikes me kinda weird is that when both knobs are maxed it, i get this static-y kinda noise in the begining of the sound when its all highs, then it fades away when the lows start coming it...i got that same thing with the fx-25, but this seems to be a little more exaggerated...is that normal with the 440?

Yes. There's a little distortion with the 440. The TL022 is what was in the original, but perhaps a different op amp might help.

Shit man....any "DIP8 dual operational amplifier". Type that in the mouser.com search engine. There's hundreds of them. Some other "higher fi" options would be the TL series(072 and up), LM series, NE series.

I mentioned in another thread that it would be cool to know what chips people prefer for different effects. Like I prefer the 4558p over the 4558d in my VB-2. I tried the tlc2272 and 4559p in it and it sounded too harsh and brittle.

here are a few...
LM833
TLC2202
TLC2272 (This has good results in overdrives.)
OP275
LT1214

These might work too...
NE5532P
TLV2362IP
MC33078P

I feel your Mouser pain. The more you use the site and learn the easier it will get. Just call them if you are in doubt. I ordered $25 worth of Surface Mount Parts (SMD) Chip capacitors and diodes last time. Luckily I sent the stuff back with an RMA and got a refund.

There's dozens of choice and in a lot of cases, it doesn't really make any difference.
