I just completed my phase royale with the 8 JFET module.

I'm not getting any phase effect at all.

Bypass works.

The LED lights - (it didn't initially, and I checked and realized I missed the third wire on the input jack).

Here is what the behavior is:
- In and Out levels work as expected.
- Mix has a very slight, barely noticeable effect
- None of the other knobs have any change on the sound
- There is nearly no difference between the pedal on and bypassed
- The led pulsates when lit

more pics.

I hope someone spots an error. I tried to be super careful with the solder joints, component orientation, etc. Very frustrating.

Did you dial in all 4 trimpots?

Actually no. I had them all in the middle of the range, and from the instructions it sounded like they were just small adjustments to fine tune things.

It turns out that the trim pot on the 8-stage JFET board has a sweet spot where the "phasing" happens, if you are off from that more than a few degrees then zippo. No oscillation.

So it's working. That could be clarified in the docs, thanks to the pointer.

I'll pass that along.
