Hello,

I just finished my first build. I choose the Germanium Boost. As soon as I finished I plugged it in and to my disappointment it doesn't work. With it bypassed the guitar signal flows right through it, then when I turn it on, the LED comes on, but no sound at all. The volume pot has static sounds when I turn it, but I've had other germanium pedals do the same thing. I've gone back over all my solder joints as recommended in the sticky, and still no luck. I've included what are hopefully some decent pictures for you guys, my phone camera is pretty terrible though. Any help would be great. I had a lot of fun building it and would like to do another one, but I don't want to start another without getting this one done first obviously hahaha!

Here's the first one of the switch. I didn't realize i had melted a little sheathing when putting another wire in. If that could be the cause I'll rewire it, but I read that at worst its just cosmetically unappealing.

Thanks for any help you guys may give me!

Nevermind! Upon further inspection I have fixed it. All I had was the transistor in wrong! Thing works and sounds great now! Can't believe it.

Is the transistor the silver cylinder with the 3 wires coming from it? Could you please elaborate on which way it needs to go in? Thanks so much.
