Build Your Own Clone Message Board

Need some troubleshooting suggestions. not sure what I did wrong... I finally finished my crown jewel. boost side worked first try, distortion side has HOWLING hum and self oscillating noise unless the midrange level control is nearly fully turned down.

What would cause the midrange portion of the circuit to cause these noises? If the midrange is fully counterclockwise, all other controls work as they should (treble, bass, switches; etc.). It doesn't matter how any of the switches set, still crazy self oscillating fuzz kinda sounds.

I took a magnifying glass to the circuit a few times and everything looks correct and in spec.

Please post photos of your build. They need to be LARGE, well-focused, well-lit shots of both sides of the PCB and all of the switch and jack wiring. Either use the file attachment function here in the forum (files need to be under 1Mb in size) or post them to a publicly accessible hosting site (like Imgur) and display them here with "Img" tags.
