Should the potentiometer plastic cover be removed? The reason I ask is because on the instructions of the Mouse kit, they instruct the cover to be removed.

The necessity of removing the dust cover is dependent on the layout. If there are two pots next to each other (the LEVEL and DISTORTION on the Mouse), and they have dust covers, they will need to be removed for the pots to fit straight-on. This isn't necessary on the Large Beaver since the VOLUME pot is flanked by the thinner bodied toggle switches.
