I finished my Ram's Head and it mostly sounds great. However, when playing the two lowest notes in a G chord, I hear some sputtering. This is mostly noticeable on the neck pickup. The low E string on my neck p90 suffers from this the most. When turning the EQ to the bassy side, the level of fuzz is reduced. Otherwise the pedal sounds great! Any ideas on the problem?

Make sure all of your resistors are in the right place. Have a look at your diodes on the right, the solder looks like it hasn’t flowed through the holes. Reflow the sketchy looking joints. They mostly look fantastic. You have any humbuckers to try? Let’s see if if does it on both single and humbuckers

Two things:

  1. This process is amazingly effective at solving problems such as you describe, and doesn't take that long to do: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=52188
  2. Do you have access to a multimeter and know how to measure DC voltage with one?

I double checked all my resistors tonight and reflowed all the solder. The problem remains. If I play an A on the E string and a B on the A string, you can hear something similar to the beats you hear when tuning a guitar by playing the same note on two strings when the tuning is slightly off.

I can measure voltage on a multi-meter. I ran out of time but tomorrow I should probably test that this cap, that I must have accidentally touched with my soldering iron, still works.

Very doubtful that the cap is a problem--those things are almost indestructible. Looks to me like all you did was discolor the coating.

I would be interested to know the voltages on the collectors of the four transistors, though. They should all run right around 4 VDC. What you describe sounds like maybe one of them isn't correctly biased.

I experiencing the same issue, like it's gating on the low notes, but only with the neck/middle pickups of my strat. No problem with the bridge.

OP, did you find a solution?

I measured the transistors, and got -2.5, -4.5, -1.8, -2.3

Please start a separate thread, as we seek to avoid "piggybacking" of topics. Despite how similar the symptoms may seem, we often find that the causes turn out to be different. Please include photos of your build in the new thread--they need to be LARGE, well-lit, well-focused shots of BOTH sides of the PCB and all of the jack and switch wiring. Thanks....
