I completed a Classic Phaser build and am trying to diagnose a problem (very weak signal, LED barely lights) and I have a basic question about checking components on the the board. If I check a resistor with a multimeter by touching each lead should the measurement match the resistor markings? Some are spot on, others are very different than what they should be. Same with capacitors - should the measurement be the same as indicated by the capacitor labeling?

You cannot accurately measure a resistor’s resistance while in circuit due to the rest of the circuitry being connected in parallel with it. At the very least you need to disconnect one end of it from the circuit. Same thing for caps.

Suggest that you start a thread in the Non-BBD Modulation sub-forum and describe your problem there. Please include photos; they need to be LARGE, well-lit, well-focused shots of BOTH sides of the PCB and all of the jack and switch wiring. This will help us to help you.
