For Forum Moderators - invalid email message?

Hello! I have an account settings question for the board, hopefully this is okay. My current forum profile is associated with an email that I rarely use anymore and I have tried to update E-mail address" in my account settings, but run into problems.

When I try to update the email and Submit the update I get an error / validation message of "The e-mail address you entered is not allowed to be used."

My primary email is a Protonmail account (<username>@protonmail.com). Has this provider been blacklisted at all for any particular reason?
