I'm just wondering if anybody knows, for sure, if it's totally safe to play a baritone guitar through a guitar amp? I know that playing a bass through a guitar amp will most likely burn out your voice coils... or worse. I'm thinking of getting a baritone guitar and I want to play it through my usual rig but I just want to make sure it isn't going to blow a speaker out or anything. I would be tuning down to B... possibly A.

People do play their baritones through guitar amps. If you're planning on playing it through a small practice amp maybe you should be concerned. Through your regular gigging set up you're fine. Are you playing it twangy or heavy? (has no bearing on the question, I'm just curious;))

I'm going for the 'Twang thang mostly. I'm sure I'll blast out some doom core from time to time just for the hell of it but I'm playing with another guitar player now (mostly clean) and I'm assuming that a regular guitar and a baritone will complement each other nicely.
