Definitely looks like an awesome practice amp to have around... maybe more.

I haven't heard one yet but I'm interested in checking one out sometime.

well, it is a 40 watt tube amp... I was kinda looking for it to be my main amp, as much as I'd like to have a bunch of nice fenders, marshalls, and a Roland 120, I don't have the money. I figured this would be it for me as far as versatility, the only question is... How well does it accept pedals?

Wonder how it compares to the new Fender Champ/Super Champ combos. All valve, plus DSP for modeling and built-in effects.

And Quotey - welcome back man! I'd been wondering what happened to ya.

I'm sure it's very versatile but I doubt it sounds exactly like all of the amps you mentioned. Really.. you should try one out and see if you like it.

I love their Toneport and Gearbox apps for recording direct late at night when an amp isn't an option.

Of course it doesn't sound exactly, one could only wish lol. I'm just looking for "almost there, but not quite" since I'll settle for that

In case anyone cares, I've just been busy with marching band and all, but I'm starting to wander back into my guitar pedalness. For Christmas I got a new set of pickups, it's like a new guitar!

Trying it out is definitely the best way to find out anything. I wasn't thinking it would sound like a Champ or Super Champ, rather wondering how versatile it was compared with the new Champ and Super Champ which are similar in design - all valve plus digital modeling and effects. It's an interesting concept, one that I'm not sure how well it works since I haven't tried any of them out :)

Well let us know how you like it. Like I said I'm really interested in giving one a test drive myself.

I really like the Line 6 stuff... but I get skeptical with things like this and I usually find, for my own style, that a simple tube amp with a simple signal path gives me the best tone which is more important to me than versatility.

I jammed on the new Spider Line 6 112 today for about 45 minutes.
Wasnt really impressed. I could not get a Fenderish clean out of it, or any good clean actually.
I thought the presets were bland at best. They have them laid out bad too or so it seemed. It went from like "Albert King" to "Nu metal", so naturally you have to keep adjusting the master volume or risk bleeding from the freeking ears.
Onboard effects were very weak. Flange was a joke.
It had some tube warmth, but all in all sounded too digital.
