Ok, I am officially impressed. I followed the build sheet and the amp fired up the first time. There is no hum. I am going to build an audio power meter to confirm output, but as I said IMPRESSED. I went with the 6L6 and higher output transform. The instructions were clear and the photos and schematics were great. One thing, the 470 ohm grid current resister was perfect for the 6L6, but would burn out the regular 6V6 tube. Grid current at 375 VAC was about 51 ma. That is just a little on the warm side, but close enough.
Only beef: chassis is small, so it is a little cramped. Take your time and use needle nose pliers.
