All kinds of mods with this thing. I kept it close to the vest, save the treble switch (very useful) and the release knob. AION knocked this one out of the park. Would have done all the mods, but my buddy in the Pink Floyd band wanted it close to orig.

P.S. his name is Dylan

I've built two. A/Bed them with my dad's actual ODR-1, and they are dead on. And the addition of the bass knob means you can actually use it with non-Telecaster guitars!

^ This! I have an ODR-1 but could get along with it because of the bass wooliness. But everybody in Nashville plays a Tele, so...

I shouldn't have gone over & checked out that Aion website! I just ordered an Andromeda board, along with Horizon (Catalinbread DLS-1), Malacandra (Xotic RC/AC Booster) and Tempest (Friedman BE-OD/Dirty Shirley) PCBs. That oughta keep me busy for awhile....

P.S. The Aurora looks great, Jeff!

Based on Jeff's gorgeous build, I went to the Aion site and was very impressed. So much so that I bought the Andromeda (Nobels ODR-1 clone) kit, even though I have stopped building because my hands don't work so good anymore.

I told my self to be kind, don't get frustrated and walk away if it got tough. I did have to walk away several times :( but ultimately I finished it. I love their kits: instructions are as good as BYOC, top notch components and easy-peasy wiring (if you don't, ahem, install them backwards). And that drive is super nice! For now, it's on my main pedal board. It's funny that I don't have too much of an issue playing.

I probably will not be building much any more, it's really hard, and not the meditation it used to be. Plus, I have a s*****d of pedals. *BUT* if something catches my eye, I may just do it... :)

I guess the bass knob made all the difference for you, huh? Glad you enjoy it.

Sorry about your hands. I've had some severe chronic pain before, which is in remission at the moment, making every day a gift. Whatever the reason, it's no fun to lose the ability to do stuff you used to be able to do. Glad you can still play, though!

Thanks for the compliment. I'm having terrible hand problems too, Mike. Getting old isn't for pussy's, huh?

Damn, I'm all about DIY'n it but I'll be darned if I'm going to press my good fortune so far and give myself bad juju by building my own dirt nap bed

Great pedal Jeff. Now I'm off to poking around at Aion..............

Oh and 4 of my knuckles are currently experiencing arthritis. I'm not happy about it. I guess the alternative is the aforementioned coffin.

Hey Jeff -

How has the Aurora stood up? The Andromeda I built has been fantastic. I see why all the Nashville folks like it so much :)

'Twas a gift, and it's long sent off, but I see the guy who has it regularly, and he raves about it. You got me interested in the Andromeda now.

Awesome, I hope he enjoys it. I really like the Andromeda, very easy to dial in some pretty groovy dirt...

I just ordered 5 different boards from Aion darn you guys. It's your fault and in particular the Blueshift. That looks like a cluster waiting to happen.
