Ok, I recently got a steal on an Electra MPC guitar, with two modules installed. The Phaser module that came with the guitar kills almost all volume and has a loud hissing sound whenever engaged. I've seen sites where people build their own MPC modules, and the circuit layout looks fairly simple. First, does anyone know how to crack the box in the first place? It seems to be one solid piece, without a visible seam. I'm wondering if there's a way to open it and be able to close it again (Although I'm not averse to cutting it open then putting it back together with electrical tape lol). Second, does anyone know how I isolate the problem? I was going to run it over with a signal tester, but I'm a bit of a circuit noob and I'm not really sure what to look for.
If anybody could help me out with this, I'd greatly appreciate it! Also, if anyone has the know-how to modify the modules, I'd be willing to ship them to you, along with a little bit of $ for your effort. Thanks guys!
