Build Your Own Clone Message Board

I know its a long shot but Pitch Black Electronics no longer has the build docs online
I'm hoping someone here might have kept them
Going through all my pcb and trying to get all the documentation for each pcb

Just buttoned up my build tonight and I'm having an issue...

C8 keeps popping...

I get no "on" LED indicator.

I am passing signal - but the only thing that's working is the FET boost. It's LED comes on.

That particular volume control works...The "high/low/mid" switch works...the tubes are lighting....but no sound from the main power amp.

The main volume control and all tone controls are nil.

I emailed Gino and got this:

C8 feeds the B+ voltage which is what supplies the entire preamp so it's hard to say specifically what could be causing it to blow. The cap is specified at 63V. Is that what you used? What is the B+ measuring? Perhaps it's exceeding the cap's voltage rating. You're likely going to need to use an oscilloscope and signal generator to properly suss out this issue.

I haven't even started mine yet along with 100+ pcb's that I've had forever
but I'll follow this thread cause I will get around to it ( I think ) or there will be a big pcb sale coming soon to a group near you!

My only hope is that someone else populates a board and then goes searching for more info and ends up here....
