To the better minds than mine (not a minority)

I have a Dual Gang B100k (PC Mount) and want it to be C100K. Are the 2 resistor values between the wipers and a lug that do it?

Thanks
Geek

Google choked up, fell over and sank into the swamp when I asked.

That's the funniest thing I've heard all week.

Hmm, I think I put together a spreadsheet to calculate those curves, based upon the value of the pot and the fixed resistor. The next challenge is to find it....

One thing to keep in mind, Jeff--when you add a fixed resistor across one leg and the wiper of a linear pot, you will not only create a curved response, you will also reduce the maximum available resistance. For example, if you add a 1M resistor across a 100K pot, the maximum achievable resistance will be 91K. Reduce the fixed resistor to 220K and you get a deeper curve but the max. resistance is reduced to 69K.

Interesting indeed. Thanks Bob.

Wow, I’d be interested in that chart too, that’s fascinating and helpful.

Well, it's not "a chart" because every different combination of pot and fixed resistor values generates a different set of curves. I'll need to dig out that old spreadsheet and re-familiarize myself with it, and I'll see what I can do to make it generally accessible.

Right! I use excel at work almost all day everyday. I know I could learn so much from you, there are so many things it can do.

oh, man - yeah, I've seen that document. It was super handy for making custom pots and adjusting tapers. Hope you find it! If so, maybe a sticky?
