Very impressive Bob. When I retire I intend to do more stuff like this.

I just use an spdt, I wonder why they would waste a whole dpdt on that? It a fun mod to play around with. A push push pot is even less intrusive.

I think it's just the fact that almost all the push/pull pots you see for sale are that DPDT design, because of its flexibility for multiple wiring mods, like phase change and series/parallel mods (which do use both sides of the switch).

Makes sense, I thought about that when I wrote the post ..hmmm. How’s the guitar sounding?

Sounded very good from the get-go, and even better after I installed a set of Fender Yosemite pickups (designed by their pickup wizard, Tim Shaw) that I got an excellent deal on. I really like the convenience of being able to bend a string and not have the others go out of tune! I have the analogous Tele pickup set in my American Performer and love those, too. Great vintage tone, exceptional clarity, bright without being "icepicky."

Very cool, that’s a very sharp Tele. I’m loving the Shaw pickups. I have been absolutely obsessed with telecasters over the last year and a half. I put pearly gates humbuckers in one of the ones I built. Sounds pretty tasty.
