Hi all!

What can I change to get tighter bass out of the Mouse?
For some reason it is just "flubbier" sounding than the Li'l Mouse I built.

Thanks
~Troy

I would try replacing the two 0.022uf (22n or 223) with lower values--.01uf/10n/103 would be a good place to start. These caps are used at C1 and C9 (see schematic here: http://byocelectronics.com/mouseschematic.pdf) and control the amount of bass coming into and passing out of the effect circuit.

Keith may have some ideas on other component changes that could also help, so I'll ask him to have a look at this thread.

I'd try reducing C6 and C5.

Thanks Keith.
I will put sockets in their place and try some different variations. Any suggestions on what values to start with?

Also, DVM mentioned reducing C1 & C9 too.
Should I leave those alone?

I would definitely try the Boss's recommendations first!

Lol. Right on, halvsies it is!

I just had a hard lesson in patience and diligence getting those 2 caps out. Man. That is a tight space!
I fared well though. Caps are out and sockets are in.

Now i just have to wait for my caps to arrive.
I will let you know how it goes!

Thanks again, gentlemen!

Well i got my caps today and tinkered around with different value electrolytics in c5 & c6.
I tried every combination of 1uf's, 2.2uf's, 4.7uf's and 10uf's.

The 10's were definitely horrible lol.

Can't really say which i liked better other than that as they all retained some element of annoying "flub".
But tone wise, it definitely sounded best with the specified caps. (2.2 & 4.7).

Soooo...where to go from here?

I'd try lower values than the stock 22n's at C1 and C9. I'd start with 10n's and go to 4n7's if the 10's help but aren't enough.
