Exactly. That's going to be the case with any pedal with clipping devices such as this - the less gain you have, i.e., the less the pedal is clipping, the less you will be able to hear any difference between the various clipping devices. It's even more so with the klon circuit, or OD-820, or anything that has a dry blend.
