Is there some info on what the various mods are? The emailed instructions are clear with schematic but don't explain the effect of each component substitution.

The asym mod is obvious (and already done) and the only other one I want is to get some more clean at the low end of the drive knob. I'm using it on BYOC's current TS clone I just got (along with the mod pack).

I have a very early BYOC TS clone (large box) that I love with those two mods but that was years ago. Can't remember. :) Making a clone of my beloved clone for a bandmate.

I'll open up the old one and stare at it for an hour if I have to. :)

Maybe it's the 51K to 22K?

Yeah, that's it and changing the 4.7k gives more dirt at the top. You can delete this if you likes.

Yes, that's correct. Changing the 0.47uf to a .22uf gives you more lows and a little more gain. Changing the .22uF to .15uF cuts less treble. Changing the 511k to 1M increases the input impedance.

A couple years ago, i modded a BYOC classic overdrive pedal with some minor changes to increase the bass and a little more added gain. I forgot exactly what I did. I just followed an instruction that was suggested somewhere on this forum. The results were good. I really liked it a lot.

But after a while, I missed the old stock tube screamer sound. I guess it’s kind of like when you miss your old dog even after you get a new one.

These days, I commonly use a stock Classic overdrive and use an FA 1 clone (FET preamp pedal) as a boost EQ to add more thickness or fatness to the tone (if desired as an option) since it comes with 2 EQ knobs. And if I want to smooth out the sound, I add the Dyna Comp clone (Lil Comp pedal) and the results are outstanding. I still keep the modded pedal if I’m in the mood for something different.
