This one is going to be a real challenge but I can't wait to hear it once it is all together.

Latest progress, all the MLCC caps and film caps installed. You can set jumpers on the optocoupler to change the bypass from stock to a minimal bypass. I am going for the minimal.

The two boards connect via pin headers, which I have yet to add.

There are two 100k trimpots on the back to bias the circuit. From memory both test points should be around 3.4v. It is recommended to bias using a oscilloscope and signal generator but I don't have one so I will have to use my DMM and ear.ImageImage

I am going to use discarded resistor leads for jumpers then hopefully have enough room to put a six pin socket on top for the optocoupler.

84 resistors
12 ICs
10 transistors
65 caps

Looking good so far! Good luck.

Yeah this is a definite case of rocking it before boxing it. It all goes well I will try to knock out the L5 Preamp next.

Maybe a stupid question, but the LED is not coming on so I measured the voltage on the positive pad and it is 9.1v. However the CLR is showing 9.1v across both leads. I am guessing it could be a cold solder joint.

The voltages on the ICs seem good so far. Image

Here is the schematic of the power LED indicator, power goes in at 9 volts across the 3k9 resistor which should step down the voltage I would think. However when I measure across the resistor I get 9.1 on both sides. Also, the positive LED pad is showing 9.1 volts.

I also see from the schematic that this is connected to the H11F1 optocoupler, and that it being activated would cause the LED to go on and off. Since this circuit is not true bypass, the optocoupler is used to turn the effect on and off.

I am not sure though why the voltage passing through the 3k9 resistor would not be changed at all, the resistance of the resistor is correct.

Apparently the h11f1 was bad, I put another in and it fired up.

Awesomely executed, outstanding graphics, sounds as it should, well done. I'm just not a fan of BOSS Chorus. But I am a fan of great builds.

Nah sounds great. The first sound is phaser-y, the second has a real pronounced detune, and the third is what i think of when i think of this pedal. Gonna have to put one together eventually.
