I'm not exactly sure when BYOC was actually conceived, but 2019 marks our 15th year as an officially licensed business. I'm not sure what we'll do to celebrate, if we even do anything at all, but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for making this possible -- the people who work here, the moderators, and the customers. Some days, I wouldn't wish running your own business on my worst enemy. And some of the customers I've had to deal with have been the biggest, laziest, most spoiled @#$%$#@$%!s I've ever encountered. But those days and those people are few and far between. The overwhelming majority of the people I've had the privilege of meeting through BYOC, whether it be in real life or via the internet, have been awesome. And most days, I can't believe how fortunate I am to be able to make a living doing what I do. So thank you to everyone for an amazing 15 years!

Congratulations Keith, very nice :)

I've only been with you part of the way, but let me say that it has been a great pleasure. The community you have built here is a fantastic resource and helpful and friendly.

Here's to fifteen more!

Mike

*edit* One more thing: your kits have set the standard for the industry - truly top notch in quality and in resources.

Congrats, Keith! As Mike pointed out, it's the quality of the kits as well as the breadth of the products offered that are at the core of BYOC's success. And, of course, the hard work & dedication of you & your people, all of whom I've found to be a pleasure to work with. And maybe we forum mods have made a small contribution, too.

Congrats, Keith and team! BYOC was my entry point into this rad hobby that has brought me so much joy and given me a great method for letting go of the day’s stress. And ok sure, it’s pissed me off from time to time, too. Ha.

Here’s to another decade or two, or at least until the SMT revolution drags us all under!

Congratulations Keith! I think the success of this venture is primarily due to your vision and execution and I've been proud to be a small part of your team.

Congrats Keith! I guess I've been around here for 12 of those 15 years now  Thanks for the super fun hobby turned side-biz, where I've met some truly weird people as well!

Congratulations Keith!! This place was my jumping on point as well. Lots of my silly bass player questions were answered many times over.

As far as quality, it isn’t until you solder someone else’s board that you realize how luxurious these board are. Then you know why these kits cost a little more, lots of care, quality and forethought have gone in to the creation of each and every one.

I wish I could afford an amp kit..... [FACE WITH STUCK-OUT TONGUE AND WINKING EYE]

I'm another that you thankfully introduced to this hobby.

This has always been such a great place to hang and learn a little something now and then!

Here's to a least another 15 years!

It took a bit of digging but I finally found it, from issue 54 of Australian Guitar, my first introduction to BYOC.
Just a couple of months later I'm ordering my first kits from Perry Ormsby and making an account here.
So thanks for giving us all a fun hobby Keith and heres to at least 15 more years of BYOC.

Many thanks from this home guitar hacker. It's hard to put into words with context but when I found this hobby it added something to my life in many ways. Had I not located this site, which I found through reading the Gilmourish site and Bjorn mentioned a BYOC muff to which I thought "what's a muff.." well you know what I mean, I'm convinced I would have never built a pedal, then amps, a guitar etc... basically a life time hobby was born for me.

The combination of that and the people I first started chatting it up with here (most of which appear to have moved on) have added some fun and enjoyment to this music hobby that I otherwise would have missed out on.

So again thank you from this dude.

15 years.... Where does the time go.. My son was not yet one year old. My daughter not born yet..

I had much less grey hair and it was all longer! My glasses prescription has not changed much..

Endless amounts of guitars and gear have come and left..

Grateful to BYOC and Keith for taking me under it's wing to make my small contribution in the early years. I've some great memories because of all of you!

Congratulations, Keith and the entire BYOC crew! Here's to another 15 and more...

Thanks for not only the introduction to this hobby, but also for keeping the site "noob friendly" and for being such an ethical businessman.
