Hi everyone!

Just finished a build of the Lil' Mouse kit, but the sound I'm getting out of it sounds like it's being run through a wah with the heel down, even with the filter knob turned all the way up (the sound is indeed distorted though). The bypass sound comes through clean, no problem. In addition to the filter knob changing the tone, the volume knob also changes the tone. Any help would be great!

First step will be to reflow all your solder joints to make sure the solder is fully flowed. The general rule is that if you can see into the eyelet, there isn't enough solder. Do this, and see if it changes.

In addition to Nick's excellent advice, you also have a resistor placement error that needs correction. See my marked up PCB diagram below. You've switched the two circled resistors. And since the misplaced 560R is part of how the tone of the gain/distortion circuit is determined, there's a pretty good chance that this error accounts for some/much of the tonal weirdness you're hearing.

Wow, thank you all for such great advice!!

I both reflowed the joints and moved the resistors, and now it works like a charm!
