Hi, I built the Chorus a few weeks back and have been trying to troubleshoot through this forum with minimal luck.

Here are the facts:
- Replaced all the ICs
- Reflowed the solder
- When the pedal is off, there is a clean signal
- When the pedal is on there is a low hum, the light comes on and oscillates, adjusting with the knob. If I turn the trimpot to the left, there is distortion that matches the oscillation of the light; to the right there is just a loud hum.
- I can provide voltages from the ICs, they seem to be a bit higher than what most others have in other topics. On 4558 pins 1-3 do not have the same voltage.

Pictures were too big to upload, so I put them here:

Thank you for your help :)

Did you install the 56K resistor (which was originally intended to be installed in the spot I've circled in your photo below) on the back of the 3007 socket per page 11 of the instructions:

Yeah for some reason that one flew over my head, woops! But, I tacked it on the back of 3207 like the Revision said to for 3.1, and now it's got this distortion no matter how I turn the trimpot. To the left is still oscillating and to the right is plain distortion. Any ideas?

The IC installed in the TL022 spot, upper left--did that come in the kit? It doesn't look to be marked as a TL022, but the labeling is hard to make out.

It would also be useful if you posted a better lighted and focused photo than the one you've linked above. Id like to check the color codes of all the resistors, but between the fuzziness and the shadows, I can't make out half of them.

Sorry about the photos, I just uploaded another and made sure you could see all of the resistors. That IC is the NTE equivalent to the TL022. It was all they had at my local electronics store, but from my understanding they should work the same.

Thank you for your help!

Can you provide a link for the new photo(s). The one in your original post only goes to that old photo.

I'm sorry, that was supposed to be the link to the entire folder. This one should work!

The instructions tell you to tack solder the 56k resistor on the back of the PCB only for the Rev3.0 PCB with the 3007 chipset. You have the Rev3.1 PCB with the 3207 chipset. So you need to install the 56k in its place on the PCB like a normal resistor.

Sorry its been a while, I've gotten caught up with other things and had to take a break. I installed the 56k resistor in the PCB on the right side now and am still having the same problems. The distortion oscillates with the flash of the LED and the other variable resistor can also change the sound of the distortion, if that helps at all.

Remove the TL022, 3207, and 3102. Do you get clean unaffected signal with the pedal on now?

I can hear the guitar signal, but there is some heavy humming in the background. Distortion is gone though.

What are you using for a power supply?

Well, I feel pretty stupid now, but it was a 12V plug in I used for some other pedals. I didn't realize the difference. Works amazing now, thank you for all the help and running around in circles.
