Don't know. You'd have to contact sales@buildyourownclone.com to get that information.[/quote]

Thanks!
Maybe they can tell me why everything is always out of stock.
There are some other pedals I definitely would like to try to build.

I have a signal tester, not sure if it still works. Let me know where to test it at, hopefully we can figure this out.

OK, here is the signal testing sequence that I would suggest starting with. Please do the testing in the order shown. Right/left/upper/lower directions are relative to the pedal oriented with the footswitch at the bottom.

  1. Middle leg (base) of Q1
  2. Middle leg (base) of Q2
  3. Left leg (collector) of Q2
  4. Middle lug of the Bias control pot
  5. Left lug of the Level control pot

You're looking for the first test point where the signal is absent. All should have signal present, and it should get louder and fuzzier as you proceed through the list. Report your results back here. If you're not sure of how to hook up and use the signal tester, the instructions are available here: http://byocelectronics.com/signaltesterinstructions.pdf

So the tester I have doesn't have a way to hook it up to my amp.
it is Gardner Bender GCT-3304.
Should I run to the hardware store to find a different one?
If so, is there a specific brand or tester I should look for?
Thank you for helping me out.

That's a continuity tester, not a signal tester--two different things.

You can get one from BYOC right here for $15: https://buildyourownclone.com/collectio ... gnaltester

I've never seen one offered for sale anywhere else, I'd guess because they are for such a specialized purpose. Some people build their own because it's a pretty simple device, but I wouldn't really recommend that for a novice.

I was kind of hoping to not have to wait to get one shipped, but i guess it is what it is....

To be honest I don't know.
Maybe the fact that I had the PCB separated from the enclosure and power input jack gave me negative readings. I was using a 9v battery for power.
Who knows?!?!? I put it back together this weekend so I wouldn't lose any of the parts and something told me to try it again. I did, and it worked!! I'm getting better at this! I ordered a large Beaver kit, received it on Friday, finished painting and building it Sunday and it worked on the first try...so I'm learning. I gotta say building pedals (I've done 4 so far, 3 for my good buddies as gifts, the last one was for me) is lots of fun. I hope you guys get more in stock soon because I'm going to miss doing these builds.

Thank you!
Joe Camastra

Large beaver Kit came out great on the first try, so maybe I am learning something!
